Springs
Aritzo is a land of water: more than a thousand springs flow through its territory, quenching the community’s thirst for centuries and shaping its daily life. Walking among the fountains means embarking on a journey through nature, history, and traditions in an unspoiled mountain landscape.
In the northern part of the village lies the Fonte di Is Alinos, overlooking the stream of the same name. It is much frequented both for the diuretic properties of its waters and for its panoramic position, offering enchanting views of the surrounding woods.
To the south of Aritzo flows the Funtana de Santu Antoni, renowned for the lightness and freshness of its waters, which remain at a constant temperature of just 7°C. A little further on, beyond Arangino Castle, a pleasant walk leads to the Fonte di Su Zurru, immersed in peace and greenery.
Inside the Pastissu Municipal Park there are two springs that enrich the atmosphere of the place: the Funtana de Pastissu and the Funtana de Su Mammai, perfect for a refreshing stop between visits.
Particularly scenic is the Funtana Orrubia, set among granite blocks artfully arranged, with crystal-clear, light waters.
An itinerary through these springs takes you from the alleys of the historic center, where fountains are framed by ancient stone walls, to the trails surrounded by greenery, where water flows pure and silent.
